Would you like to become part of a Myofascial Release therapist team?
My purpose is to relieve people’s pain.
I have been a licensed massage therapist for the past 15+ years. I was getting discouraged and was seriously considering quitting massage therapy because it didn’t feel like I was really helping anyone. Nothing I did using deep tissue or massage seemed to last. Everything would tighten back up again within days or even hours. Have you had that same experience in your work?
Then about 6 years ago I found Myofascial Release. It turned out to be a life changer.
Myofascial Release (MFR), as taught by John F. Barnes, is a highly effective, full body, hands-on approach. It involves stretches and compressions, applied with gentle pressure, that are held until the restriction releases. Physical trauma, inflammation or postural misalignment can cause fascial restrictions leading to pressure on pain sensitive structures. This excessive pressure acts as a “straight jacket” in our body, producing symptoms such as pain, headaches or limited range of motion. Sustained pressure and gentle stretching or compression of the fascial system, allows it to regain fluidity and relieve the tension of this connective tissue. It is a very gentle and highly effective form of massage therapy that is not like your normal massage therapy techniques.
And it is also easier on my body and less work for me.
My vision for the future is to train a team of massage therapists to do Myofascial Release so we can all work together, support each other and spread the word about the effectiveness of MFR. Within the next 3 or 4 months I plan to start a clinic or a massage therapy office where anyone who wants to specialize in MFR can join me. With a receptionist who does the collecting of the payments and the scheduling of the appointments, and answers the phone calls and deals the managing of the office. All the therapists will need to do is show up and do what we do best; relieve the stress and restrictions that cause pain.
In groups of three or four licensed massage therapists, I plan to do hands on training on the art of Myofascial Release. Classes will be held once a week (the same class available at two or three different times) for about two hours per class, at a cost of $20 per person per class. Starting about the second week in January.
Registration Will Be Limited
If you are interested in participating in this unique opportunity to receive training in MFR, (whether or not you plan to join the team,) sign up now.
